The Bare Necessity

In a village in the Vosges region of France, Pierre Perdrix, captain of the gendarmerie, is caught off guard when Juliette Webb, a cheeky and enigmatic young woman, reports that a nudist has stolen her car. Unimpressed by Perdrix's casual attitude, Juliette invites herself into his house for supper. Charmed by this invasive stranger, Perdrix introduces her to his tight-knit family: his widowed mother, his earthworm specialist brother and his niece, a table tennis fan. As the days go by, searches for the car don’t turn anything up, but a fragile friendship forms between these two very different people.
