Camille Claudel 1915

February 1915. Interned in the Montdevergues psychiatric asylum due to delusions of persecution, sculptor Camille Claudel looks forward to a visit from her younger brother Paul, a Christian mystic and writer. Once a muse, pupil and mistress of the famous sculptor Auguste Rodin, Camille is still convinced that he’s trying to steal her work and plotting to poison her.

During the three days prior to Paul’s visit, Camille kills time by writing letters that express her deep sense of loneliness and alienation due to her mental disability. Camille also attends a rehearsal of the play Don Juan by Molière, performed by both male and female patients in an annex of the asylum.
