Lupin (Netflix)

Senegalese immigrant and gentleman thief Assane Diop (Omar Sy) lives in Paris. His father was accused and found guilty of stealing a priceless necklace belonging to Marie Antoinette. He was thrown into prison, where he died.

Knowing that white people often overlook Black immigrants, Assane, who works as a janitor, uses that to his advantage to carry out his heists. He gets his inspiration from fictional thief Arsène Lupin, in the novels by French author Maurice Leblanc. Behind in his alimony payments to his ex-wife Claire (Ludivine Sagnier), Assane enlists three loan sharks to help him steal Marie Antoinette's necklace during an auction at the Louvre.

Inspired by the classic French stories about Arsène Lupin, the famous thief and master of disguise.
