Decoding Annie Parker

Annie Parker has watched both her mother and sister die of breast cancer, but doctors believe the disease is not genetically passed down. Years pass and Annie is diagnosed with the same illness that affects not only her body, but her relationships with both her husband and son, who are not prepared to handle the effects of cancer. Although feeling hopeless at times, Annie rises up to the challenges and believes there is something out there that might save her.

This is where Dr. Mary Claire King comes in. Unlike most doctors, she believes there is a genetic link to breast cancer and she wants to prove the doubters wrong. With the help of Annie and other breast cancer sufferers, Dr. King works to prove her theory as well as save lives.
