In Cuba in 1948, Chico, a young piano player with big dreams and Rita, a beautiful singer with an extraordinary voice, meet. Their dreams and shared love for music bring them together and they fall in love, but their careers tear them apart when Rita makes it big in New York City. Reunited, they rediscover their love for each other, until something happens that changes their worlds forever.
