Theater Reviews

Love this little Albany gem

March 02, 2020

The Spectrum is unique in Albany, showing both big studio and independent films and some that will never appear in the chain theaters. The theaters are small and intimate and the whole place has a neighborhood feel to it that is welcoming and warm. The Madison theater has a similar ambience, but the Spectrum has a more "homey" feel, AND those wonderful homemade baked goods! I love this place and prefer watching movies here than anyplace else in our area.

Movie passes not honored!!!

July 25, 2018

I loved the spectrum theater! My friends bought me 2 movie passes. The passes do not have an expiration on them. Spectrum would not honor them. They said that they we issued from the previous owners of the theater. So what! And $4.50 for a bottle of water?? Seriously?

Won’t honor its own tickets

January 23, 2018

Although still having same name, this theater changed hands and will no longer honor tickets previously purchased. The theater already got the income so why not honor tickets? Previous good service allowed one to overlook the small rundown environment but can’t do that when losing lots of money on unusable gift tickets.

Best movies in town

May 12, 2017

I love the smaller, more coffee house feel of this theater, and their selection of movies is excellent.
