Jeff Lieberman's directorial debut is goofy fun about killer worms. The whole "southern" angle is overdone: at times this feels like a monster movie written by Tennessee Williams. Don Scardino makes a weak lead. He looks like a stiff breeze would knock him over. Patricia Pearcy is sexy and you wonder just what the heck her character sees in Scardino. The "wormface" scene is infamous and probably the highlight of the film. Fun but rather flawed, just like Lieberman's next film BLUE SUNSHINE. Check it out.
