I saw this during education week at BYU. It is a beautiful touching true story of the difficulties during this era of racism that existed throughout all of America. I love how it shows the warmth of those close to the Savior and yet the weakness of us as worldly humans. I love Jane and her love for God and those around her Despite their weaknesses and often cruelties towards her. It was a difficult time. There were converted members who literally brought their slaves with them to live among the members. Slavery was condemned by leaders. However I think we as church members condemn and damn ourselves and the church’s growth by our choices and attitudes. Then the higher law is so often taken from us and we are given a lower law. And many suffer because of it. I absolutely loved this movie and the honesty and open this shows. I love Jane Manning and Emma. They were amazing people! I hope this eventually comes out on video. I will purchase it! Enjoy!
Wonderful story of love, acceptance and faith.
