In a voiceover, Jennifer Lawrence's character says, "We spend all our time here. I want to make a paradise." She begins plastering and fixing up the house. Later, in bed, she asks her husband (Javier Bardem) if he's happy. He smiles and says, "I love you." She spots blood on the carpet. There's a knock on the door and her husband lets another man (Ed Harris) in. She objects, saying, "He's a stranger. Next, the man's wife (Michelle Pfeiffer) shows up at the door. Strange things begin to happen. Jennifer finds a photo of her husband in the stranger's luggage. Instead of being shocked, he asks, "What were you doing in his luggage?" Jennifer grows increasingly unhappy with the situation, while her husband says he only wanted to have more people around, to listen to new ideas.
