The official origin trailer for Wonder Woman opens on Paradise Island and a young Diana (Gal Gadot) being told the history of the gifts given to her people by the gods; specifically, the sword of Athena, which she is told only the fiercest can wield. We see Diana is trained hard throughout her life to be a strong warrior, and taught never to let her guard down or expect a fair fight. It is then she learns that she holds more power than she could’ve ever known – a secret that was kept from her about what she really is.

Diana then discovers an American pilot, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), who has crashed his plane on her island. After learning that her people and the world are in danger, Diana is ready to take up the sword of Athena and head to England. With her strength, skill and sacred weapons, Diana does battle as Wonder Woman to save the world and the people she loves.
