In the second official trailer for The Space Between Us, we go inside Ansdell High School in Colorado, where a teenage girl, Tulsa (Britt Robertson), is having a video chat with a teenage boy, Gardner (Asa Butterfield). It turns out he's at a space settlement on Mars. She tells him once foster care spits her out, she's leaving. Gardner tells the adults on Mars that he wants to go to Earth, but they're reluctant to let him go, saying it's too risky. However, they eventually give in and he finds Tulsa. He tells her his mother died on Mars giving birth to him, but he has a photo of his father and wants her help in finding him.
