In the offical trailer for The Meddler, Lori's (Rose Byrne) recently widowed mother Marnie (Susan Sarandon) is driving her crazy. She actually walks into her daughter's house unannounced while Lori is in the shower, rationalizing that she doesn't have to knock because she has a key. Marnie drops by to bring her bagels, even though Lori didn't answer the phone because she didn't want company. When Lori has to go on a business trip, Marnie suggests coming along, but instead, starts hanging around with Lori's friends. She also meets a man (J.K. Simmons) her age, who drives a Harley, and meddles in his life, too.
