In the trailer for The Happy Prince, author Oscar Wilde (Rupert Everett) attempts to assume a normal life after being released from prison following his love affair with Lord Alfred Douglas. Now penniless and traumatized, Oscar turns to his group of friends for support as we see flashbacks of his whirlwind and deeply dangerous relationship with Alfred. At the end of the trailer, Wilde states: “Suffering is nothing when there is love. Love is everything.”
