In the premiere trailer for the Australian drama The Daughter, we see a family made up of three parts — a mother, Charlotte (Miranda Otto), a father, Oliver (Ewen Leslie), and their daughter, Anna (Anna Torv). One day, Oliver and Charlotte are grocery shopping and happen upon Oliver's old friend Christian (Paul Schneider). Christian, returning to attend his father's (Geoffrey Rush) wedding, hasn't been home in over 15 years. As soon as he is introduced to Charlotte and Anna, he suspects something strange and uncovers a long-kept secret that could threaten to destroy everything.
