In the trailer for The Children Act, we meet Fiona May (Emma Thompson), who's a High Court judge. She's so busy with cases that she doesn't have time for her husband, Jack (Stanley Tucci). Just as Jack announces he'd like to have an affair, Fiona gets an urgent case. Adam (Fionn Whithead), a teenager with leukemia and his parents are refusing blood transfusions, even though it will save his life, because they are Jehovah's Witnesses. Fiona goes to the hospital to hear from Adam himself what he wants to do. From that one encounter, she has to make a decision that could save his life – or not.
