The official Comic-Con trailer for Snowden begins with a knock on a door. A cellphone is placed into a microwave because it "blocks UHF frequencies." Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) introduces himself as a 29-year-old private contractor working for the NSA, CIA and various other jobs in the intelligence industry.

"When the Saints Go Marching In" is heard as footage of Snowden's past is shown. We are introduced to his girlfriend (Shailene Woodley), who asks him, "What is it about this job that makes it more important than your life?"
