In the first trailer for Shaft, when John Shaft Jr. (Jessie T. Usher) returns home to investigate the untimely death of his best friend, he enlists the help of his father, John Shaft II (Samuel L. Jackson). When the two Shafts aren’t enough, they turn to Junior’s grandfather, John Shaft I (Richard Roundtree), for help in this family affair.
