The official teaser trailer for Power Rangers begins by introducing us to loner Jason Lee Scott (Dacre Montgomery), a troubled teen fresh off a car crash. He attends Saturday school classes to graduate and we learn that he lives in a town called Angel Grove.

As the trailer continues, we meet four other students who are also outcasts. Together, the five teens stumble upon alien artifacts of different colors. The palm-size pieces they discover mysteriously afford them superhuman strength and jumping abilities. These five individuals become the Power Rangers.

Towards the end of the trailer, we catch a glimpse of villain Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks), who sadistically grabs one of the female Rangers by the throat and says that she's "killed Rangers before."
