In the trailer for My Spy, JJ (Dave Bautista) is your prototypical hardened badass with a particular set of skills. The problem is that those particular set of skills and his less-than-stellar social demeanor aren't a great fit for the C.I.A. After botching a mission in which he wound up killing his targets rather than interrogating them he is given one last chance, but winds up getting made by nine-year-old Sophie (Chloe Coleman). She blackmails him into a deal where he'll train her as a spy in return for not reporting him for his mistake. Through this unlikely partnership both are able to grow beyond how others see them.
