In the trailer for Madame, Anne (Toni Collette) discovers the dinner table has been set for 13 guests, after her husband Bob (Harvey Keitel) invites his son to join the lavish party at the last minute. Believing the superstition that having 13 guests is unlucky, Anne decides to invite her maid Maria (Rossy de Palma) to fill in as a guest at the last minute, but orders her not to let her guests know what she really does for a living. When one of the men at the dinner party falls for Maria, both Anne and Bob are horrified. However, Maria, at first struggling to fit into upper class society, eventually discovers she's enjoying herself.
