In the final official trailer for the animated Kubo and the Two Strings, we see young Kubo (Art Parkinson) ask his mother what his father was like. She replies, "He was just like you - strong, funny and so handsome." She then assures him, though, that he got his magic from her. At that point, he grows beautiful blue wings and flutters off the ground, overjoyed.

The trailer then transitions into the heart of the story, which is Kubo's fight to protect his people and his family's legacy. With the help of Monkey (Charlize Theron), we witness him learning how to harness his magic, his key weapon, and see him learning to use a bow and arrow. Kubo and his friends, including Beetle (Matthew McConaughey) face off against fierce creatures on a quest to conquer the forces of evil.
