In the official final trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword we open on Vortigern (Jude Law) taking his throne as King. He then learns the legend of Excalibur hints there could be another King in line for the throne he stole from his brother, whom he murdered. He goes to find this heir, who is his nephew, Arthur (Charlie Hunnam). We see Arthur when he was a child growing up an orphan, finding the strength and skill to eventually take the sword in the stone under his uncle’s terrified gaze. Arthur learns his uncle stole his father’s throne but didn’t account for the power Arthur would have wielding Excalibur. Though Arthur is warned about the threat his uncle poses, he fights nonetheless to exact revenge and fulfill the prophecy of his legacy while fighting a war for the kingdom that is rightfully his.
