Air Force pilot VC (Karthi) is captured by the Pakistani army during the Kargil war between India and Pakistan. While being held captive in a Rawalpindi prison, he recalls his romance with a doctor named Leela Abraham (Aditi Rao Hydari), whom he met after he had a serious accident and was rushed to hospital.

As the doctor on duty, Leela was extra attentive because he was first-ever patient at the hospital. She stayed with him until he woke up. Later, he asked her out, but they soon realized they are polar opposites. He's domineering, chauvinistic and self-centered, while Leela is intelligent and sweet natured. While in the prisoner of war camp, he plots an escape in order to return to Leela, hoping she'll take him back.
