The dramatic premiere trailer for Free State of Jones stars Matthew McConaughey as Newton Knight, a farmer who loses a loved one in the Civil War. Sick of fighting a battle that isn’t his own, Knight decides to become a deserter, an outlaw. He rounds up hundreds of farmers and slaves in an attempted and well planned-out rebellion against the Confederacy. What follows is rallies, gun-fire, death and destruction.
