The official trailer for Bleed for This opens as famous real life boxer Vinny Pazienza (Miles Teller) is wrapped in cellophane and frantically rides a stationary bike. He's desperately trying to shed a few pounds before his weigh-in begins. Once he's off the bike, he enters a large room where members of the press and boxing community await his arrival. As he strips down to skimpy leopard print underwear (revealing a trim, defined physique), he steps on the scale and successfully makes his 140 lbs. goal.

The trailer continues as Vinny is shown throwing punches in the ring and his fans, far and wide, cheer him on as they watch his matches unfold on TV. But the tone takes a turn when Vinny is involved in a head-on car collision, which leaves him with a fractured neck. Exhibiting determination and an undying drive to fight, he vows to recover and resume training under the watchful eye of coach Kevin Rooney (Aaron Eckhart). He eventually makes a miraculous comeback.
