Henry Whipple (Dennis Quaid) is an enthusiastic and ambitious traditional seed farmer who wants nothing more than for his sons to help run the business that's been in the family for generations. With his eldest son at college, next in line is his rebellious teenage son Dean (Zac Efron), who is determined to be a professional race car driver rather than work on the family farm.

In the competitive world of modern agriculture, Henry has made a few enemies along the way. His farm undergoes an investigation that can potentially cause the Whipples to lose everything. With the fate of the farm at stake, father and son may not see things eye-to-eye but they put their differences aside to save what really matters to them.
