In the official trailer for A United Kingdom, we're shown images of Seretse Khama (David Oyelowo) from Botswana, and Ruth Williams (Rosamund Pike), dancing and walking the streets of London together. Ruth tells her family she's met the man she wants to spend her life with. Similarly, Seretse exclaims his love for Ruth, which is met with resistance from his family.

As the trailer progresses, it's revealed that Seretse is Prince of Botswana, soon to be King, and as his soon-to-be wife, Ruth is ridiculed in London. Their interracial marriage sparks an outcry. The stir their love causes reverberates around the world and inspires a move towards peace and acceptance.
