I loved this movie. You really have to listen though...or you miss some of the dialogue.

Burton's command of color and peculiar characters plays to great advantage in Alice in Wonderland. By making the film a coming-of-age tale in which Alice returns to an Underland she doesn't remember - except as a nightmare - Burton can create a lead character who isn't thrown, willy-nilly, into a rambling series of unconnected vignettes but, rather, is on a quest to find herself. Brilliant stuff.

This movie was okay, it isn't a memorable one though. The computer graphics are amazing but the plot seems to be all over the place and had poor attempts of charater developpement. I also expected more humour from Johnny Depp.

The magic of the story was lost in the set design,in the interpretation and missing aspects of the original story, Alice was unbelievable and the house of cards never fully explored

I liked it, a lot. It was not exactly Alice, it was a story using the characters and roughly (very roughly) the tone of the Wonderland books. Visually impressive with a fair bit of humour. I was puzzled as to the intended audience. For kids it should have been lighter, for teens more edgey and for adults they could have stretched the boundaries more. At any rate, I thought it was imaginative and worth seeing.
