STEPHEN CAMPBELL MOORE

Date of Birth: November 30, 1979

Born in London, Stephen Campbell Moore trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He began his career on the stage, appearing in the Royal Shakespeare Company's productions of Much Ado About Nothing and Antony and Cleopatra.

Unlike many people who first land small roles in films and work their way up, Stephen's feature film debut was a starring role as Adam in Bright Young Things, released in England to critical acclaim in 2003. He appeared on the BBC mini-series Byron and He Knew He Was Right (both 2003), before crossing the pond to find success in North America in 2004.

He starred alongside Helen Hunt and Scarlett Johansson in his second feature, A Good Woman (2006), based on the play by Oscar Wilde. In 2006, Stephen was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for his work on the Broadway production of The History Boys.

He appeared opposite Nicolas Cage in Season of the Witch (2011) and the same year, played the British Prime Minister in the comedy Johnny English Reborn (2011).

On the British mini-series Titanic (2012), he played Thomas Andrews. That was followed by roles on the BBC mini-series Hunted in 2012, and the role of Reverend Aaron Webb on the BBC mini-series Our Zoo in 2014. He played Ed Laithwaite on the BBC/Amazon Prime mini-series The Last Post in 2017 and Phillip Jarvis on the Channel 4/Netflix series Traitors (2019).

Returning to the big screen, he played Captain Chetwode in Downtown Abbey (2019), the big screen continuation of the popular ITV series.

Stephen married Claire Foy (who played young Elizabeth II on the Netflix hit series The Crown) in 2014, but they have since filed for divorce. They have a daughter, Ivy Rose Moore, born in 2015.
