SCOUT TAYLOR COMPTON

Date of Birth: February 21, 1989

Born Desariee Starr Compton, Scout Taylor Compton was born in Long Beach, California and began acting at the age of eight with an uncredited role in A.W.O.L. starring David Morse. The movie wasn't released for several years, but Compton kept busy in the meantime with a variety of short films and TV guest appearances on hit series such as Ally McBeal, ER, and Frasier. In 2001 she made her first of several appearances on Gilmore Girls, playing Dean's nervous younger sister.

In 2004 she landed a starring role in MGM's teenage adventure film, Sleepover, opposite Alexa Vega and Mika Boorem. The same year she played a small role in Jennifer Garner's film 13 Going on 30.

In August 2005 Scout made national headlines when she ran away from home and was missing for two weeks. Luckily she was found unharmed at a friend's house.

Since then, Compton has guest starred on shows such as That's So Raven, Cold Case and Without a Trace. She has also continued working in feature films such as Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007) remake, and The Runaways (2010), playing Lita Ford opposite Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie.

On stage Compton has played Kate in the musical Annie and Peaches in Annie Warbucks at The Grove Theatre in Upland, California, and the title role in the drama Anne Frank at La Mirada Performing Arts Center.

Scout has recorded a pop rock album. She also participates in charity projects for disabled and disadvantaged children as a Celebrity Youth Member of Kids with a Cause. Her hobbies and interests include writing songs, playing drums, surfing, and hanging out with her friends. An animal lover, she has a Chihuahua and three cats.
