NICK JONAS

Date of Birth: September 16, 1992

Nicholas Jerry Jonas was born in Dallas, Texas to former sign language teacher and singer Denise, and to Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., a songwriter, musician, and former ordained minister at an Assemblies of God church. Nick was raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey and homeschooled by his mother. He is of Italian, German, English, Irish, Scottish, Cherokee, and French-Canadian descent.

He is the younger brother of former bandmates Kevin (born 1987) and Joe (born 1989) Jonas. He also has a younger brother named Frankie, who was born in 2000. Nick, Kevin, and Joe all played music together growing up, but it was Nick who was discovered first, singing in a hair salon at six years old while his mother got her hair done. By the time he was seven, he had already begun his singing career on Broadway, appearing as Tiny Tim in the Madison Square Garden production of A Christmas Carol.

While working on Broadway, he wrote a Christmas song with his father that was discovered by Columbia Records. He was signed to the label as a solo artist in 2004, with his brothers Kevin and Joe co-writing a few songs. This eventually led to the formation of their band, the Jonas Brothers. The brothers released one album with Columbia, but were dropped soon after.

However, in early 2007, Disney's Hollywood Records picked them up and put their songs on Radio Disney, and their videos on Disney Channel. The Jonas Brothers' self- titled album was released in 2007, reaching Top 5 on the Billboard charts and going double platinum. Their next album, A Little Bit Longer, made them the first artists to have three albums, including the Camp Rock soundtrack, on the Billboard Top 10 at the same time.

In 2008, Kevin, Joe and Nick played roles as a fictional boy band in Disney Channel's TV movie Camp Rock (2008), which was a big hit. Joe starred opposite Demi Lovato as her love interest, while Kevin and Nick played more minor roles.

By 2009, the brothers had their own Disney Channel series titled Jonas, starring Nick, Joe and Kevin as a fictional boy band who attend private school while also being pop stars. The series included Frankie in a supporting role as their little brother. They also took part in the sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010).

That same year, Nick began to branch out when he went on his first solo tour with his side project, The Administration. He also returned to Broadway in 2012 to replace Darren Criss (who had replaced Daniel Radcliffe) in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

In October 2013, the Jonas Brothers announced that they were breaking up. Since then, Nick has appeared as a guest mentor for Christina Aguilera's team on season 8 of The Voice, has a recurring role on the horror-comedy series Scream Queens, and has been working on his solo music career, releasing his third studio album called Last Year Was Complicated in June 2016.

In 2013 he filmed a starring role in the straight-to-DVD film Careful What You Wish For (2016), opposite Isabel Lucas and Dermot Mulroney. He went on to play the older brother of a college student (played by Ben Schnetzer) who undergoes brutal hazing in the Paramount Pictures feature Goat (2016). Nick's latest film credits include Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), its sequel Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), and Chaos Walking (2021).

Nick notably dated fellow Disney Channel star, Miley Cyrus, from 2006 to 2007; followed by another Disney Channel star, Selena Gomez, in 2008; Australian actress/singer Delta Goodrem from 2011 to 2012, and Miss Universe 2012's Olivia Culpo from 2013 to 2015. He has since married actress Priyanka Chopra.

Nick was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of 13, and with the help of his brothers, developed the Change for the Children Foundation, which helps raise money and awareness for diabetes and other childhood diseases.
