NATASCHA McELHONE

Date of Birth: March 23, 1971

Born Natasha Taylor in London, England, McElhone was raised in Brighton with her brothers by their journalist parents. In her youth she took up Irish dancing and studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Graduating in 1993, she started a career in theater, performing in both London and Manchester in productions of Richard III, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Cherry Orchard and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

By 1994 she made her screen debut on the British television film, A Breed of Heroes. A few years later she made her film debut in Surviving Picasso (1996) followed by a starring role in the mini-series Karaoke opposite Albert Finney.

After a few more roles, McElhone got her big break playing the concerned viewer working to free Jim Carrey's Truman Burbank from his television prison in The Truman Show (1998). The exposure soon led to starring roles in films like Ronin (1998) and Kenneth Branagh's Love's Labour's Lost (2000), Killing Me Softly, FearDotCom, and Solaris (all 2002).

McElhone currently lives in London with her husband, Dr. Martin Hirigoyen, a plastic surgeon, and their two sons. Her family now resides in a small town in Ireland.
