MOISES ARIAS

Date of Birth: April 18, 1994

Moises Arias is an American actor best known for his breakout work on Disney Channel series such as Hannah Montana and in films like The Kings of Summer and Ben-Hur.

Moises was born in New York City to Colombian parents. He is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish fluently. Acting was a passion from a young age, and after graduating from the Barbizon Modeling and Acting School in Atlanta, Georgia, he began to pursue it full time.

At just 12 years old, Moises earned his first speaking role as a guest star on the Disney Channel series The Emperor's New School. This would mark the beginning of a long collaboration between the young actor and Disney. Small for his age, he next landed a guest-starring role as an obnoxious young boy in a daycare program on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, followed by a recurring role as Rico Suave on the hugely popular series Hannah Montana. While working on Hannah Montana, Moises won his very first feature film role in the Jack Black comedy Nacho Libre.

Over the next few years, Moises appeared in various Disney projects, including the series Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck, as well as films like The Perfect Game (2009), Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009), and Astro Boy (2009).

It wasn't until 2012 that his career started to really heat up, as he earned parts on the popular ABC sitcom The Middle, the critically acclaimed independent feature The Kings of Summer (2013), the animated sequel Despicable Me 2 (2013), and the sci-fi flick Ender's Game (2013). Moises described his work in Ender's Game as his "graduation from child acting."

In his spare time, Moises and his actor brother Mateo Arias (best known for starring in the Disney XD series Kickin' It) often make homemade movies together and post them to YouTube. He told Kizworld that he loves working with his brother, and that they are strongly influenced by the Coen Brothers.

On the comedy series Jean-Claude Van Johnson, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme in a comical version of himself, Moises played Luis from 2016 to 2017.

He also played Junior in the drama The Land (2016), Dismas in the epic remake Ben-Hur (2016), and Pimp-Lo in the musical comedy Pitch Perfect 3 (2017).

Most recently, he played Patagrande a.k.a. Bigfoot, a teenage guerilla, in the thriller Monos (2019).
