MAE WHITMAN

Date of Birth: June 9, 1988

Born in Los Angeles, Mae Whitman landed her first acting job at the age of three in a Tyson chicken commercial. Her mother, actress Pat Musick, decided to list Mae with an agent, since she was coming along on her mother's auditions anyway. The little girl made her feature film debut at the age of five in the major motion picture When a Man Loves a Woman (1994), playing the daughter of Meg Ryan and Andy Garcia. Whitman continued to work steadily throughout her childhood, next playing Matthew Modine's daughter in Bye Bye, Love (1995), Bill Pullman's daughter in Independence Day (1996) and George Clooney's daughter in One Fine Day (1996).

In 1996, Mae landed a recurring role on the hit television series Chicago Hope, playing Sara Wilmette for three seasons, while fitting in guest appearances on other shows such as Early Edition and Friends. In 1998, after appearing in the feature film Hope Floats (1998) as Sandra Bullock's daughter, Whitman landed a recurring role on JAG, playing Chloe Madison for the next three years. In the meantime, she also managed to squeeze in leading roles in TV movies such as Invisible Child (1999) and A Season for Miracles (1999).

In 2001, she landed her own series, starring as Emma "Grace" McKee in State of Grace, about two young girls growing up in the 1960s. Following in the footsteps of her mother, who does voice work for animated shows, Mae has also provided voices for the TV series Superman, Teacher's Pet, Johnny Bravo, The Wild Thornberrys and Fillmore, and for films such as The Jungle Book 2 (2003) and Tinkerbell (2008).

Mae returned to feature films with a role in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) and the big screen adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012). More recently, she starred in The DUFF (2015), Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast (2015), and the animated film Rock Dog (2017) with Luke Wilson.

Currently, she stars as Annie Marks in the Netflix comedy series Good Girls (2018).

When she gets spare time, Mae enjoys riding her quarter horse, singing and swimming. She lives in the Los Angeles area.
