Macon Blair Biography

Macon Blair

Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Macon Blair is an actor and writer, best known for the movies Blue Ruin, Murder Party and Gretchen.

In 2007, the creative duo of writer/director Jeremy Saulnier and actor Macon Blair first got together for Murder Party, a horror comedy that won the Audience Award for Best Feature at the Slamdance Film Festival. Since then, Jeremy and Macon have been working on a series of scripts that eventually were deemed too expensive, until Jeremy started working on what would become Blue Ruin.

In 2013, Jeremy and Macon reteamed for their second collaboration—Blue Ruin. Macon portrayed Dwight Evans, a enigmatic outsider whose quiet life turns upside down when he returns to his childhood home to get his revenge. Blue Ruin won FIPRESCI International Critics Prize at Cannes.

Macon also wrote the script for the Chiller Network adaptation of The Monkey’s Paw as well as the graphic novel Hellcity for Image Comics, in addition to various Avengers Classic stories for Marvel Comics.
