LOLITA DAVIDOVICH

Date of Birth: July 15, 1961

Born in Toronto to Yugoslavian parents, Lolita Davidovich was raised speaking Serbo-Croatian. When she was 10, her parents divorced and she stayed with her mother. Lolita was determined to become an actress, and as a young woman moved to Chicago to take classes. There she found some stage work under the name Lolita David. She gradually began getting bit parts in feature films like Adventures In Babysitting (1987).

After six months of fiercely competitive auditioning, she made her flamboyant film debut playing the notorious Louisiana stripper Blaze Starr, who became the mistress of Governor Earl Long in Blaze (1988). With her voluptuous body (much of which was faked for the film—something Lolita is not embarrassed to admit), bright red hair, and lively acting style, she accurately captured the qualities that made the real Blaze a living legend.

A wide variety of subsequent roles have allowed her to spread her wings and demonstrate her considerable abilities. During the 1990s, she took part in films that enjoyed success at the box office, including Now and Then (1995), Jungle 2 Jungle (1997) and Mystery, Alaska (1999).

She also appeared in Hollywood Homicide (2003) starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, Kill Your Darlings (2006) starring Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan, and The Longest Ride (2015), starring Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson.

In addition, she has been cast in numerous TV productions, including The L Word, True Detective, Shades of Blue, Law & Order True Crime and How to Get Away with Murder.

In 1997, Lolita married American director and screenwriter Ron Shelton, with whom she has a daughter named Valentina.
