Born in Paris, France, Lily-Rose Melody Depp is the only daughter of actor Johnny Depp (who has her name tattooed on his chest) and French singer Vanessa Paradis. She has a brother named John “Jack” Christopher Depp lll (born in 2002) and her aunt is actress Alysson Paradis. Due to her background and upbringing, Lily-Rose is fluent in both French and English.

Lily-Rose often traveled with her parents while they were working, and divided her time between living in Paris and Los Angeles. When her parents split up in 2012, they shared joint custody of their children. Lily-Rose and Jack began attending prestigious private schools in L.A., where Lily-Rose was a successful student. She participated on the debate team, as well as in dance and musical performances.

Due to her background, it comes as no surprise that Lily-Rose decided to follow her parents’ footsteps and make a career for herself in show business. In April 2015, she posed for a photo shoot in the Australian magazine Oyster and soon after, Lily-Rose debuted as a model for Chanel. She entered the world of acting with a small role in director Kevin Smith's 2014 horror movie, Tusk. Lily-Rose then played a starring role in Smith's comedy/horror film Yoga Hosers, which also stars her father and mother as well as the Smith's daughter, Harley Quinn Smith. In 2015, she filmed a starring role as Natalie Portman's sister in the French drama film Planetarium and in the same year, she was cast in a starring role as dancer Isadora Duncan in the biographical drama La danseuse, known in English as The Dancer.

She went on play a role in the romantic comedy A Faithful Man (2018), as well as playing the pivotal female role in the thriller Savage (2018). In the Netflix historical drama The King (2019), she played Queen Catherine de Valois alongside Robert Pattinson as The Dauphin of France and Timothée Chalamet as King Henry V of England.

Along with acting and modeling, her fashion choices are frequent topics in the media. She is also popular on social media, currently having almost two million followers on Instagram. She is rumored to be in a relationship with male model Ash Stymest.

In June 2015, Smith already revealed that Lily-Rose will reprise her role from Yoga Hosers in Moose Jaws, which does not have a release date yet.
