KRYSTEN RITTER

Date of Birth: December 16, 1981

Former model-turned-actress Krysten Ritter has had a whirlwind life in show business and the stunning raven-haired beauty has ended up exactly where she wants to be, in the world of acting.

Krysten was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania where she lived on a beef farm with her mother, stepfather and sister. She was discovered by a model scout in her local shopping mall at the age of 15. By the time she was 18 Ritter moved to New York City, had signed with Elite Model Management, then Wilhelmina Models, and had established her international modeling career in fashion capitals like Madrid, Milan and Paris.

But Krysten soon had her fill of the thrill of modeling and wanted to try something different. After five years of modeling, sher decided she wanted to take up acting. She studied with famed acting coach Marjorie Ballentine, who has coached actors such as Mario Cantone and Gary Oldman.

Under Ballentine's wing, Krysten landed her first commercial for Dr. Pepper. Since then Ritter's bubbly personality and goofy attitude has provided a smooth transition into acting on the small screen. Ritter has made guest appearance on television hits such as Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl, and Gilmore Girls.

Ritter then moved on to the big screen, getting roles in mostly romantic comedies, as the supportive roommate of Rebecca Bloomwood in Confessions of a Shopaholic, and the dark and twisted Gina the Goth in 27 Dresses. Ritter also stars alongside Canadian indie star Jay Baruchel in She's Out of My League. More recently, she starred in Big Eyes (2014) and The Hero (2017).

Krysten currently lives in Los Angeles. She plays guitar and sings in a band entitled Ex Vivian in her spare time.
