KIRSTEN PROUT

Date of Birth: September 28, 1990

Vancouver-born and bred, Kirsten Prout first got the acting bug at the tender age of two. While watching Disney movies she would envision herself as one of the characters. As she got older, she never lost the desire to perform and begged her mother to let her act. Her mother refused, fearing that Kirsten was too sensitive and would not be able to handle the rejection associated with the industry. Kirsten's life changed when she found that her second grade teacher really disliked her. It dampened the little girl's spirit and once her parents realized what was going on, they moved Kirsten to another school. By then Kirsten had become withdrawn, and her parents were at a loss how to get her to come out of her shell. Kirsten asked if her parents would now allow her to act, and enroll her in martial arts classes. They agreed.

Her first acting job was at ten years old as the lead in a commercial with famed hockey player Wayne Gretzky. Since then Kirsten has appeared in lead, supporting and guest starring roles on television shows such as Stargate SG-1, Dead Zone, Beyond Belief, The Wedding Dress, The Linda McCartney Story, Mysterious Ways and the Lifetime original movie Tell Me no Lies (2007). She is best known for her role as Amanda, the title character's love interest in the ABC Family hit drama Kyle XY, which ran for three seasons.

Kirsten made her feature film debut in 2005 as Abby, sidekick to Jennifer Garner's character in the superhero flick Elektra for 20th Century Fox. She also played the supporting but pivotal role of Vampire Lucy in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. In the film, her character is seen in flashbacks and gives insight into the back story of "Jasper" (Jackson Rathbone) and how he was created. She most recently starred in No Clue (2014) alongside Brent Butt.

In her spare time, Kirsten loves spending time with her friends and family. Her hobbies include swimming, wakeboarding, and anything that has to do with the water. She loves animals and has three rescued cats at home (Shadow, Romeo and Jasmine) and a purebred Yorkshire Terrier named Tabasco.

Kirsten currently resides in Vancouver and Los Angeles.
