KAT DENNINGS

Date of Birth: June 13, 1986

Born Katherine Litwack in Pryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, Kat Dennings is the youngest of five children. She was home schooled and when she graduated from high school at age 14, her family moved with her to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

After a standout guest-starring role as Jenny Brier, a teen who hires Samantha to do publicity for her Bat Mitzvah on HBO's Sex and the City, Kat was cast as Bob Saget's daughter on the WB sitcom Raising Dad. Although the show only lasted one season, for the next couple of years, Kat was cast in several TV movies before making her big screen debut opposite Hilary Duff in Raise Your Voice (2004). She went on to play Catherine Keener's daughter in The 40 Year-Old Virgin (2005), then landed a regular role on NBC's ER as Zoe Butler for one season.

Back on the big screen, she played substantial roles in Big Momma's House 2 (2005), Charlie Bartlett (2006) and The House Bunny (2007). She was nominated by the International Press Academy for a Satellite Award for her performance in Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008) and appeared opposite Woody Harrelson and Sandra Oh in the film Defendor for Sony Classics. In Daydream Nation (2011), she played the lead character.

Dennings plays Darcy in the movie adaptation of the comic book Thor (2011), directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth.
