JOEL GALLEN

Gallen started his career in New York television. He rose to the rank of Vice President of production for MTV and created and produced a number of popular shows and specials including the MTV Movie Awards. With his successful work in high gear, Gallen moved to Los Angeles to set up his own production company, Tenth Planet Productions.

From LA, he continued to produce the MTV Movie Awards as well as other specials like Ellen Degereres: The Beginning, Dixie Chicks on the Fly, A Supernatural Evening with Carlos Santana and the shorts featured on the MTV Movie Awards such as Being Tom Cruise which starred Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller.

From 1996 to 1998, Gallen also produced the VH1 Fashion Awards, which once again included his comical short film Zoolander starring Ben Stiller. The popular short was later made into a feature film starring Stiller and executive produced by Gallen.

Gallen took his first step behind the camera in 2001 to direct his first feature, Not Another Teen Movie.
