JEREMY RENNER

Date of Birth: January 7, 1971

Jeremy Renner didn't decide to become an actor until he was in college. He dabbled in various areas, studying science, criminology and computer sciences, but it was while taking an elective in acting that he fell in love with it. From there on he made theater his major and went on to perform onstage professionally before scoring the lead role in New Line Cinema's comedy National Lampoon's Senior Trip (2005).

Over the next five years, Jeremy booked a variety of guest appearances, telefilms and indie films. In 2000, he began playing the recurring role of Penn, a 17th-century vampire in the hit WB series Angel. In 2001, he won a Feature Film Award from the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival for his work in Fish in a Barrel (2001).

The role that put Jeremy on the map and that earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination, was his role as serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the indie hit Dahmer (2002).

His movie career began to heat up with roles in S.W.A.T. (2003) with Colin Farrell; Neo Ned (2005), for which he won Best Actor at the Palm Beach International Film Festival; North Country (2005), opposite Charlize Theron; and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007), playing Jesse James' (Brad Pitt) cousin. In 2010, he was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his work in The Hurt Locker. His acting career has only since soared.

For instance, he appeared alongside Tom Cruise in the sequels Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) as William Brandt and starred as Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Joss Whedon's blockbuster, The Avengers (2012). He also took over for Matt Damon in the fourth installment of the Bourne film franchise, The Bourne Legacy (2012). In 2013, Jeremy starred alongside Gemma Arterton in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Jeremy reprised his role as Hawkeye in several more Marvel films, including The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Other credits include Wind River (2017) alongside his Avengers co-star, Elizabeth Olsen, and the comedy Tag (2018). He also provided the voice of Swifty in the animated film Arctic Dogs (2019).

With a background in theater, Jeremy keeps in "shape" by performing in plays throughout the Los Angeles area. His most memorable was Search and Destroy, which he not only starred in but also co-directed.

Between film and theater, Jeremy finds the time to write, record, and perform contemporary rock. He has written songs for Warner Chapel Publishing and Universal Publishing.

Jeremy was briefly married to Canadian model Sonni Pacheco, with whom he has a daughter.
