JASON CLARKE

Date of Birth: July 17, 1969

A native of Australia, Jason Clarke has come a long way from his sheep shearing days as a child, graduating from the University of Melbourne, Victorian College of the Arts in 1994.

After graduation, Jason spent most of his time in the theater, including working on a production of The Blind Giant Is Dancing in 2005. A year later he made the jump to television in 1996 with his first recurring role on Australia's Mercury.

Keeping a steady pace, Jason then progressed to the big screen in Dilemma (1997) before taking a brief, reminiscent step back in time to direct a number of stage shows, including a musical version of A Clockwork Orange and Love and Understanding.

Throughout his career Jason has bounced back and forth between the big and small screen, having lead roles in TV shows Brotherhood and The Chicago Code as well as appearing in films such as Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002), Death Race (2008) with Jason Statham and Texas Killing Fields (2011) alongside Sam Worthington and Chloe Grace Moretz.

Since his largest TV role to date on the aforementioned Brotherhood, Clarke has steadily appeared in films boasting high profile casts. These include Public Enemies (2009) with Christian Bale and Johnny Depp, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) with Shia LaBeouf and Michael Douglas, Trust (2011) with Clive Owen and Lawless (2012) with Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman.

He continued to work steadily, with roles in Zero Dark Thirty (2012) alongside Chris Pratt and Jessica Chastain, The Great Gatsby (2013) with Leonardo DiCaprio and Isla Fisher, Terminator Genisys (2015) with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke, and Winchester (2018) alongside Helen Mirren.

In the biopic Chappaquiddick (2018), he played the starring role of Ted Kennedy, in the haunting story of how the American senator left a woman to drown following a car accident. That same year he returned to theaters in the biographical drama First Man (2018) alongside Claire Foy and Ryan Gosling.

Most recently, Jason is set to appear in the upcoming horror film remake Pet Semetary (2019) based on the novel by Stephen King.

Jason and French actress Cécile Breccia began their relationship in 2010 and had a son in 2014. Four years later, in January 2018, the pair publicly announced they were married and expecting a second child together.
