FRED EWANUICK

Date of Birth: June 23, 1971

Born and raised in Port Moody, British Columbia, Fred Ewanuick was bitten by the theater bug while studying at Douglas College, New Westminster, and decided to pursue an acting career. He subsequently trained for three years with acting coach Shea Hampton.

He made his television debut in 1998 as a “spinning gnome” on The New Addams Family series, shot in Vancouver. Following guest appearances on both Canadian and American shows such as Cold Squad, Monk, Dark Angel, The Twilight Zone, Da Vinci's Inquest and Tru Calling, Ewanuick became a regular on the new CTV series Corner Gas, co-starring as Hank Yarbo, Brent Butt’s goofy best friend. The show was an immediate hit, making Ewanuick a familiar face in Canadian households. In 2005, he began starring simultaneously in the CTV comedy/drama series Robson Arms.

Having made his feature debut in How to Kill Your Neighbor’s Dog (2000) starring Kenneth Branagh and Robin Wright Penn, Ewanuick has since appeared in numerous films, including The Delicate Art of Parking (2003), for which he won a Best Actor award at Spain's Peñiscola Comedy Film Festival, and the comedy Young Triffie (2007), in which he stars as a young Newfoundland Ranger investigating a crime.

Ewanuick, who is engaged, lives in Vancouver, B.C. with his dog.
