ETHAN SUPLEE

Date of Birth: May 25, 1976

Mostly recognized from appearing in Kevin Smith films, obese actor Ethan Suplee was delivered at home by hippie parents in Manhattan, and grew up in LA. At the age of 16, Suplee graduated from high school and his friend, actor Giovanni Ribisi, forced him to attend acting class with him. After a year of classes and no promotion on the part of his acting teacher, Suplee quit and promptly landed a recurring role as a soft-hearted bully on the ABC sitcom Boy Meets World.

Then came Mallrats (1995), his first feature film. He auditioned for director Smith (who applauded afterwards) and landed the role of William, the idiot man-boy. Continuing to work with Smith, he made a cameo in Chasing Amy (1997) as a comic book fan and supplied the voice of Noman, the Golgothan in the religious satire Dogma (1999).

He has since appeared in films such as 35 Miles From Normal (1997), Desert Blue (1998), Takedown (1999), Remember the Titans (2000), Blow (2001) starring Johnny Depp, John Q (2002) starring Denzel Washington and Cold Mountain starring Nicole Kidman. In 2005 he was chosen to play the regular role of Randy Hickey on the Fox comedy series My Name is Earl.

Suplee and his wife, Brandy, have two daughters together.
