DANNY PANG

Date of Birth: 1965

Born in Hong Kong, Danny Pang is the younger twin of filmmaker Oxide Pang Chun by 15 minutes. He first started his career as an actor with a guest appearance in the Belgian Dutch language comedy series Freddytex in 1994.

By 1998, the twins had moved to Bangkok and teamed up to make Danny's first film and Oxide's second—Bangkok Dangerous (1999). The crime thriller received the International Critics' Award (FIPRESCI) at the 2000 Toronto International Film Festival and a Tiger Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.

Since then, they've worked on several more films together, including The Eye (2002), which won the Audience Award at the Malaga International Week of Fantastic Cinema, and their first English language films: The Messengers (2007) starring Dylan McDermott and Penelope Ann Miller, filmed in Saskatchewan; and and Bangkok Dangerous (2008), an English language version of their first film.

Danny has won several awards for his film editing, including two Hong Kong Film Awards, a Golden Horse Award and an award from the Asia-Pacific Film Festival. He has also directed and written several films on his own.
