CHRISTIAN KANE

Date of Birth: June 27, 1974

Born in Dallas, Texas, Christian Kane moved with his family, eventually settling down in the small town of Norman, Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma, majoring in Art History, while performing weekends and evenings in a band that he'd formed with his cousin. Eventually, realizing that he really wanted to be a singer and actor, Kane dropped out of college to try his luck in Hollywood.

His first jobs included mailroom clerk for a talent agency, and production assistant at a production/management company. His connections there led to his big break in the business, when he landed the lead role of aspiring singer Ryan Legget in the MGM TV series Fame L.A. in 1997. The role originally called for a comedian, but after hearing Kane sing, the part was rewritten. Unfortunately, the show lasted only one season, but with his youthful good looks, Kane soon landed a role in Aaron Spelling's Rescue 77 (1999). Although the series was cancelled due to poor ratings, Kane bounced back with a role in Ron Howard's feature film Ed TV (1999). In October 1999 he debuted in a recurring role on the hit TV series Angel as the baby-faced, evil lawyer Lindsey McDonald.

In 2001, he accepted a role in a made-for-TV western called Crossfire Trail, starring Tom Selleck, as well as filming his second feature, Summer Catch (2001), starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jessica Biel.

Next, Kane landed the lead in the TV movie The Crooked E (2003), about the rise and fall of Enron, and played Brittany Murphy's ex-boyfriend, who is sent by her parents to break up the marriage during her honeymoon in Just Married (2003). He followed that up by playing a younger version of Robert Duvall's character in Secondhand Lions (2003), also starring Michael Caine and Haley Joel Osment.

In his spare time, Kane is the lead singer and guitarist for a southern rock band he formed in 1998, called KANE. The band plays around the country when Kane's schedule allows, and has performed at L.A. hotspots such as The Viper Room and The Mint.
