CHRIS KATTAN

Date of Birth: October 19, 1970

Born in Sherman Oaks, California to a Hungarian mother, Kattan was only three when his parents divorced. He grew up near Los Angeles with his mother and stepfather. On weekends however, he'd return to the city to visit his dad, Kip King, an actor who voiced Tailor Smurf on the popular Saturday morning cartoon The Smurfs, and who was an original member of The Groundlings (an improv/sketch comedy group). During his visits, Kattan enjoyed watching his father rehearse with The Groundlings.

Kattan attended high school in Seattle where he performed in a number of school plays. He decided to follow in his father's footsteps and returned to the L.A. area to join The Groundlings, while studying acting and directing at the University of California at Northridge. He continued to perform in live theater productions while in college.

It wasn't long before Chris was spotted by a producer of Saturday Night Live, and in 1996 he joined the many players.

While working on SNL, Kattan created many memorable characters, including: the Roxbury Guy, the half-monkey Mr. Peepers; the gibberish-spouting Suel Forrester; Azrael Abyss, the co-host of the fictional cable access show "Goth Talk;" half of the sex-crazed and often misunderstood couple, the Zimmermans (with Cheri Oteri); and the enigmatic exotic dancer, Mango.

In 1998, Kattan brought his swinging Roxbury character to the big screen in A Night at the Roxbury which he co-wrote with co-star Will Ferrell and Steve Koren. Although the film didn't fare well with critics or viewers, Kattan went on to land many more roles in feature films such as House on Haunted Hill, Lucky Numbers and Monkeybone.

Besides film and SNL, Kattan has also guest starred on several network television programs, including NewsRadio and Grace Under Fire.

He remained an SNL cast member until 2003. Currently he lives in Los Angeles and has played roles in independent features such as Santa's Slay (2005) and Christmas in Wonderland (2007), provided the voice of Kakie in the animated film Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015) and a variety of voices for the animated TV series Bunnicula (2016 to 2018). He also played John Wilkes Booth in Netflix's western comedy The Ridiculous 6 (2015), produced by and starring Adam Sandler and the Prime Minister in the TV movie Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2017).

Chris married model Sunshine Tutt on June 28, 2008, but they divorced less than a year later.
