Brian Robbins Biography

Date of Birth: November 22, 1963

Robbins started his career in the industry with guest roles on various television series such as Three's Company, The Facts of Life, Knight Rider and Newhart, in the late '70s and early '80s. By the mid-'80s, he added television movies such as The Gladiator and One Terrific Guy to his resume, and landed a starring role on the series Head of the Class playing Eric Mardian.

By the early '90s he had a couple of feature films under his belt, but neither were blockbuster films and his roles remained small. By the mid- '90s he decided to take on another role in the film industry. Working with friend and fellow actor Mike Tollin, Robbins produced and directed the feature film documentary, The Show, about the culture of hip-hop. Robbins and Tollin created their own production company, Tollin/Robbins Productions and used the business to create a number of kid-friendly television series including All That, Kenan & Kel, and Cousin Skeeter. He served as a co-writer and director on the DGA and CableACE Award-winning Nickelodeon show Sports Theater With Shaquille O'Neal and is also an executive producer of the successful comedy Arli$$ and series aimed at teens including Popular and the highly successful One Tree Hill.

His success doesn't end there. Robbins has also worked in the feature film industry, directing films such as Varsity Blues (1999), Ready to Rumble (2000), Hardball (2001), The Perfect Score (2004), The Shaggy Dog (2006) and most recently, A Thousand Words (2012).
