ALISON BRIE

Date of Birth: December 29, 1982

She was born in Hollywood, California, the city of dreams, and at an early age, Alison Brie Schermerhorn knew she wanted to be an actor. Her taste of acting came early as she performed in community theater shows at the Jewish Community Center in Los Angeles. Alison's first role was playing Dorothy's dog Toto in the well-known story of Wizard of Oz.

She went on to attend the California Institute of the Arts and earned her BFA in Acting, then studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland. For extra cash, she worked as a clown at children's birthday parties.

One of Alison's first television roles was on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana as a beginning hairdresser. The actress has gone on to star simultaneously in two very well-known television shows. In 2007, she began playing the role of Trudy Campbell, Pete Campbell's wife on Mad Men, set in the 1960s. In 2009, Alison was also cast as Annie Edison in the comedy Community, about a group of students at a community college.

The busy actress told HitFix, "So there was a day where I was in the morning on Community and in the evening on Mad Men in the same day."

While television is what she is best known for, the actress has been branching off into roles on the big screen. In 2011, she played Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) assistant, Rebecca Walters, in the thriller Scream 4. She played Chris Pratt's wife in The Five-Year Engagement, which starred Jason Segel and Emily Blunt. In 2013's Get a Job Alison stars alongside Anna Kendrick, Jon Cho and Bryan Cranston as a group of recent college graduates attempting to secure jobs. She also starred in Get Hard (2015). More recently, the actress starred in How to Be Single (2016) alongside Dakota Johnson and Leslie Mann, Get a Job (2016), and Joshy. She was next seen in No Stranger Than Love (2016), The Masterpiece (2016), and The Headhunter's Calling (2016). Her latest credit includes roles in films such as The Little Hours (2017), The Post (2018) and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part (2019).

Alison told Glamour she was taught to stick to one genre, but she hasn't been able to do that—it seems it has paid off for her. She said, "Everyone was like, 'Figure out your box and stay there!' But I want to keep doing different things." The sky is the limit for the star, who jokes she might try "Musicals, science fiction, maybe some Japanese anime."

Alison married fellow actor Dave Franco in March 2017.
